Watering the Seed
Today I'd like to share the scripture from 1st Corinthians chapter 3, verse 6 thru 9. Paul is speaking about each man as a servant of Christ, living out his faith by doing those tasks assigned to him by the Lord.
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building."
In listening to Steve today, I am once again amazed and encouraged in how God sovereignly directs his people's lives. Steve was a child of believers and grew up in the church having God's Word planted in his heart. As an older youth, when he was being influenced by his peers to move in the wrong direction for his life, God intervened. At specific times all during his young adulthood God sent a specific godly man into his life to help direct his way. One provided finances to help him get started in completing his education in communication. Others came along to give encouragement and training in his creative gifts and calling. All came into relationship with Steve at God's appointed time for God's appointed purpose for Steve.
Again I am reminded of the importance of the body of Christ in helping fulfill the scripture that tells us, Jesus is with us always. His Spirit lives in His people. He is living and moving through us to encourage, to instruct, to guide, and to provide support in many different ways to others. God purposed that we would need each other and the world needs to see Christ in us!
Like a ripple in a pond, we may think what we say or do for someone else is insignificant but Christ uses it to expand His kingdom one-by-one. Ultimately His purposes are accomplished in us and in His world.
This is John Schlitt and I hope you will "LIVE IT LOUD" today.
See you next time!
