Making Mt Path Straight
Today’s Scripture Moment is from the book of Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 & 6.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”
It was great to hear my friend, Geoff Moore, share his story today and recall how the Lord brought him along life’s journey with his wife, Jan. From that young Believer at Taylor University who had no real musical aspirations and thought his future was in business administration and his family’s business to finding that his passion for Jesus would take him in a completely different direction.
He and Jan counted the cost, wrestled at times with discouragement and questioned their circumstances but always came back to their conviction and confession based on God’s Word and His promises of faithfulness….to always guide and lead His people!
As a result, Geoff began sharing his faith through the lyrics of his music and continues to do so today. He is also investing himself in relationships with men in ministry to encourage them and give them an opportunity for rest and relaxation through what he does with these groups of men in Fellowship Adventures.
Geoff spoke of Oswald Chambers saying that finding God’s will is about trusting God and “doing the next thing.” Continually acknowledging God’s sovereignty and providential care of us is a learning process walked out in this life step-by-step….moment by moment, day by day. Some days it is one step forward and two steps back….but as God’s people we are still moving forward in our path.
I hope you are encouraged today by Geoff’s story. This is John Schlitt encouraging you to “LIVE IT LOUD!”
